Ok so I've kept quiet for a bloody long time about this but it's time to address it.. There is a person who does markets and makes mermaid crowns! She once sent me a msg telling me she was going to "sue me" because she is the original creator of the "mermaid crown" and unless I tagged her in my post as the original mermaid crown maker she was going to get lawyers onto me. Obviously i looked into it and there was no comparison in work.. and going by the timeline on instagram it was very clear that she had actually "taken inspiration" from my work and even my sunglasses! but you know what it didn't worry me after all there are thousands of creatives who make all sorts of crowns so good on her for being a #girlboss and having a crack. In saying this I dont take well to threats so i blocked her as i have no desire to get involved in petty drama.. Anyway never heard from her personally again.. BUT this person did decide to bad mouth me and try to discredit me at any chance.. I have received so many msgs of support letting me know what she has "ranted" about at markets and online.. once again I just shrug it off and figure only makes them look bad, not me. This person contacts markets i do or have done and does them after i have.. Contacts celebrities and clients who have commented on my work.. ALL GOOD- if thats how you want to run your business.. you do you boo. What I will not tolerate tho is having this person have their friends contact me in an attempt to bully or start a fight with me. BULLING IS SO LAST YEAR.. get a new hobby! You do you.. don't worry about me mate. I have NEVER mentioned this person's name to anyone, I do not talk about this to anyone.. if I can't get a crown made for a client I literally direct them to this person to go and buy one from them. I actually support them regardless of the bullshit I have heard.. because I believe in being a good person and there is no need to be jelous or spiteful towards other women in business trying to make a living. *PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ* Hey beauties.. sharing on here in hopes of getting the ball rolling 🙏 I have found one beautiful princess to make a crown but I would really love to find some more out there hopfully with your help as Facebook would only let a few people see it EVEN though it was shared by lots. So Im looking at making some crowns to give to some special little mermaid queens out there. Anywhere in the world. Once a month id like to make and send a crown to a little queen who may have recently battled a serious illness that took their beautiful locks from them.. When I first started this business this is something I had on my mind but didn't have much luck when contacting certain foundations (obviously I understand they are extremely busy and my idea isn't a priority considering what many families go through) although.. this is something i can personally do to help put a smile on a little girls face, i may not have money but i do have a unique talent that i would love to share.. A post just popped up in my Facebook memories.. a post I made many years ago when I was working at a florist, thought I'd share- I met a little old man ill never forget today, he came and bought 2 bunches of pink tulips from me! He said "its the wife's birthday, 36 years and I've never forgotten to buy her the pink tulips" he then proceeded to tell me all about how she has the most beautiful eyes and he's never loved another like he does her! We spent the next 10mins just chatting about how great she is. Then Just before he went to leave he turned around and said "darlin i hope it's not a bother but can you cut a bit off the stems? They just don't make the vases on the grave stones as big as they used to in my day" I Still vividly remember this man and his his sad eyes. Wow. I woke up this morning to a bad review on my Etsy on a custom made product, i take so much pride in my products.. i hand make EVERYTHING with only the best materials so to me this is a big deal. The person never actually got to see or use to review. I'm a fucking human you know? Not a robot.. I'm not a machine that bulk makes thousands of products in an hour.. This particular review pointed out that they didn't receive their order and was refunded which was true.. They were sent my sincerest apologise and an explanation of why the 6 week wait was now up to 7. Unfortunately for the past 3 months I have been in hell. I've been fucking sick as a dog. Some of the orders got delayed and I notified all of the customer and let them know my situation and some chose a refund and others chose to wait (some still waiting- ily) for me to be well enough to create for them. Thank you to those amazing clients who support me, chose to review my items every time with honest reviews bases ON MY PRODUCT. And thank you to those that understand I am a human and I get sick I love you guys so much. I'm close to being done at this point. A one star review on a $60 ear cuff that was never received.. What am i doing this for? I don't even make $25 after product and fees on that! How could someone not understand my situation and feel that was the right thing to do? How can people be so mean spirited. Devastated.
